Tell us about yourself

After completing high school in Brisbane, I moved to Melbourne to complete my studies & spent some time there. I eventually made the move back up north & been here since. It became pretty obvious to me earlier on that I was naturally pretty good with my hands, sparking my interest in surgery.

When did you decide to become a dentist?

It was towards the end of high school that I got my first exposure to all the different things that dentists are able to do. Since then, I knew it was the path I was going down.

What would you say is your dental philosophy?

I think it’s crucial to understand exactly why things happen & why we do what we do. Hence, education is a key part of my philosophy, which leads to prevention & intervention before things get out of hand.

How do you keep up to date with techniques, technology and teachings?

I’m an avid reader of the latest information, keep up to date with emerging trends through publications & am always enrolled in some sort of professional development, whether it be an ongoing online course or a weekend seminar.

As a dentist, what's the best part of your day?

It’s definitely being able to meet all the different people from different walks of life & getting to know them on more than just face value.

What is the one thing you want patients to know about your work?

That I’m motivated about understanding what makes each patient tick & how we can come to solution that will benefit them most in the long-term.

Sometimes, we might end up spending a whole appointment just going through the ins & outs of different treatment avenues, but you’ll walk away being well-informed & in the loop about exactly what is going on.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

After work you’ll probably find me at the gym, exploring around to find the next best place to eat with my wife or spending time with family or friends.

What is something people may not know about you?

I used to be serious about lifting & competed in a handful of competitions.

What would you do if you weren't a dentist?

In some form of investment banking or finance.
