Tell us about yourself
I’m a mum of two – one boy, and one girl. I’m originally from Newcastle, but fell in love with this area, so I am now making my home here!
When did you decide to become an OHT?
I worked as a Dental Assistant for many years, and during that time discovered a passion for dentistry and oral health. Over the years, my passion has only grown stronger, so I decided to study to become an Oral Health Therapist in order to help people keep their mouths healthy.
What would you say is your dental philosophy?
To provide high quality dental treatments and preventive advice while creating positive experiences and attitudes towards dental check-ups.
How do you keep up to date with techniques, technology and teachings?
I like to read recent dental and health journals. You can often find me with my laptop and a cup of tea, reading up on the latest evidence-based techniques and scientific research. I also regularly attend events, seminars and courses to receive practical experience that I can bring back to the practice and deliver to my patients.
As an OHT, what's the best part of your day?
I get a real thrill out of seeing my patients happy with their oral health, and in creating improvements in the oral health of my patients. What really makes my day is seeing kids with wiggly teeth!
What is the one thing you want patients to know about your work?
I always provide the highest level of patient care. Patients are my absolute priority, and I deeply value each and every one of my patients. I strive to ensure pleasant and rewarding dental visits, and am focused on providing the best outcomes for each patient.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a foodie, and can often be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen or having friends and family over for meals. If I’m not in the kitchen, I’ll be at the beach. My family loves being close to the ocean, and we spend many days lazing on the beach, swimming and building sandcastles. I also like hiking, and love the waterfalls at Springbrook. I love reading, especially fantasy novels, and enjoy feel-good movies, and anything from Marvel.
What is something people may not know about you?
I don’t like scary movies at all! I love superhero movies, and am a huge Arnold Schwarzenegger fan. I love (not like, love) chocolate. I was named after my two grandfathers Charlie and Alexander, so I am Charlotte Alexandra.
What would you do if you weren't an OHT?
I’d probably be a vet because I love animals
Describe yourself in 3 words
