Good moisture control
Fillings are very sensitive to moisture. When we are placing a filling, we meticulously control the moisture around the filling. This results in a filling that is much more likely to last the distance.
In most cases we use a sheet of rubber to almost completely isolate your tooth. This allows us to place the filling in a dry environment. It has the added bonus of stopping bacteria from your mouth getting on your tooth, and prevents water and debris from going down your throat.
High quality tooth preparation
Before putting a filling in your tooth, we ensure meticulous attention is provided to the tooth. We ensure all decay is removed, as also carefully remove any weak or unsupported enamel. This provides the best environment for a filling.
Quality materials
At Floss Family Dental, we always work with very high quality materials, so this is of course true for the material we use in fillings too. With fillings, working with the highest quality materials ensures the highest bond strength and best fracture resistance, as well as excellent looks and longevity. Once a filling is placed, we do a review to ensure that any defects on the filling are eliminated, which minimises the risk of plaque trapping, and also lessens the chance of secondary decay.
Follow up
We continually check the quality and stability of your fillings, long after they are placed. Each time you come for your regular check-up, your filling will be reviewed, and any adjustments can be made if needed, to ensure that the filling lasts for as long as possible.
